Nigeria Football Administration Is Lagging Behind – Prof. Braide

A University Don, Prof. Solomon Braide of RSUST has said that Nigeria Football administration is lagging behind. He made this assertion while speaking with The Newswriter Sports over the weekend.

Prof. Braide statement is coming on the heels of 29th edition of the African Cup of Nations hero, Sunday Mba saga with Warri wolves of Delta and Rangers International of Enugu. According to him, this would have not taken place if the system is running real administration. He said, it is too bad that the soccer administrator could not keep clean records for players on ward movement, this he said will not do the country’s football any good, as the players are the ones to suffer as it has happened to Sunday Mba and his colleagues.

Advising football administrators to be more purposeful to consider the players future rather than using the means to better their lot at the detriment of the players, positing that this is not the case with the European league, which the whole world appreciates.

According to him, Nigeria is blessed with human and material resources especially in sports. He said the country’s sports is the insincere attitude of the administrators.

He lamented the greedy attitude of football managers for not doing anything to develop the round leather game, but are only interested to feed but on the proceeds of the system.

Concerning players falling victim to the system, he said, players too were not guided to know what to do, hence they derail in signing here and there without knowing the future implication in their career.

To him, Sunday Mba too has to be blamed for the double role he played in featuring for both clubs without a written contracts.

He advised however, the Nigeria Football Federation should look into the problem and come up with a standard to regulate both players and the club managers to avert future occurrence of playing for two clubs without contract. ###
