Sharks Is Not A Better Side – Imama Amapakabo

Former coach of Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt Imama Amapakabo has said that Sharks is not a better side in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The former manager of Sharks made this statement shortly after his current side, Enyimba Football Club of Aba lost to Sharks by a lone goal, scored by Tayo Fabiyi, spotting jersey No. 8 in the 22nd minute of the first half in week 18 encounter in the Nigeria Professional Football League, at Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt.

According to Coach Amapakabo, his side was unlucky to gain the maximum 3 points, saying that he is the star of the show coming home to play with more organized Enyimba Football Club of Aba.

He noted that the statistics of that encounter indicates that his side had better possession of the ball in all departments of the game, only that he was unlucky not to have ran away with the maximum 3 points.

As if confirming what Amapakabo said, Sharks lost to Nembe City by a lone goal at Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenegoa in the week 19 outing. Instead of swimming out of relegation, Sharks is swimming deep in relegation with each match she plays in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Enyinba had good chances to have levelled scoreline but wasted the valuable chances that came her way at goal. It was a match that could be described as circumstances of fate. Indeed Enyimba was unlucky though she was more mature and organized, if not for their over confidence, Sharks fans would have been on the prowl after their players and coach. Sharks win in that encounter is purely divine making to save the head of her coach and players at home.

Sharks fans have never had it so good with their players and coach at home losses, considering the position Sharks is occupying at the league log table.

Coach Amapakabo also talked about what happened that he left Sharks for Enyimba Football club of Aba. It would be recalled that Sharks was flying high in the Nigeria Professional Football League as of the time the Commissioner for Sports Hon. Fred Igwe ordered for the restructuring of Sharks where 17 players and the technical crew were thrown out into the market, which informed Amapakabo’s exit to Enyimba football club of Aba. Since then, Sharks have been restructuring to its current stage.

Ninety percentage of  Amapakabo’s players were  discarded apart from Captain Odinga Odinga who is still serving in Sharks.

The present coach Gbenga Ogunbote who took over from Augustine  Eguavoen has stated that Sharks will not go to  relegation under him, but the way things are going Sharks have not swam out of relegation zone, as her woes continue from week to week in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The Sharks can swim out of relegation zone is by winning all her remaining matches or draw away and win at home since she is not fighting for a position in the current 2012/2013 Nigeria Professional Football League. ###
