The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State under the leadership of Hon. Obuah aka Go Round Monday expelled 14 commissioners from Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi’s kitchen cabinet including the SSG, Mr. George Feyii, Chief of staff Government House, Hon. Tony Okocha, the sole administrator of the greater Port Harcourt and others from the party following their refusal to attend a performance evaluation exercise conducted by the party between Thursday and Saturday last weekend.
Reacting to their expulsion, Hon. Victor Giadom the state commissioner for Works described the expution as illegal stressing that it is only the national level of the party that can expel them from the party.
Hon. Giadom who spoke with Journalists in Port Harcourt further stressed that without the state commissioners and others they claim to have expelled the party cannot exist and should rather have a rethink on their decision.
Hon. Joe Oporoma the Rivers State Commissioner for Social Rehabilitation, one of the expelled Commissioners while reacting to the expulsion claim belong to G.U Ake’s faction of the PDP in Rivers State and not Hon. Felix Obuah’s faction of the PDP wondered why they should expel him and others who does not belong to their faction adding that the act was illegal and do not whole water.
Similarly, the Secretary of the G.U Ake’s led PDP in Rivers State Barr Oruwari who described the expulsion as illegal noted that those expelled from the party were not given fair hearing to argue on the matter but were expelled unaware describing it as very wrong.
Meanwhile a staunch member of the Felix Obuah’s led PDP in Rivers State who gave his name as Chimezie noted that the reason behind the expelled commissioners and other pro-Amaechi’s members was the inability to appear before the performance evaluation committee for the exercise meaning was that they did not recognizing Felix Obuah led PDP faction.
Mr. Chimezie who blamed them for not attending the exercise remind them that the Felix Obuah’s led PDP faction was an authentic one since it was the court who restored his mandate and urged those expelled to have a rethink on their decisions. ###
