One time captain of Port Harcourt club 1928 Lawn Tennis section, Barr. Karibi George has disclosed his state of mind on hearing the exit of Hon. Tonye Harry in the passage of human existence.
Speaking with The Newswriter sports desk, the outspoken gentle man of integrity said, he was perplexed when it dawn on him that Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry, the Lawn Tennis hero is no more.
He said while trying to take the reality of his death in good fate. Those he had left behind on earth mother earth will always keeps recalling his virtue while alive. He pointed out that Tonye is one man that is a brother without border as he extends his goodness to all and sundry in adding to their well-being.
According to him, Tonye Harry represents everything about goodness.
Karibi George said, the pain of losing someone like Tonye will refuse to go away for a long time, reasons being that he (Tonye Harry) is one many Lawn Tennis players look upon for inspiration to play their tennis at the club even if he is not playing, they just want him to be at the Lawn Tennis court.
For Tonye Harry’s good charismatic life style as well as his exposure in lawn tennis gives him the ability to carry those wanting to learn lawn tennis on. In short, he has become an idol to many aspiring lawn tennis players in Port Harcourt club Lawn tennis section.
He described Tonye Harry’s death as embarrassing to the tennis section as well as those he is taking care of in life. Most especially, the tennis academy he is sponsoring. ##
