As the mass exodus of members of the people Democratic Party PDP to APC gathered momentum across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State, the Mayor of Port Harcourt City LGA, Hon. Chimbiko Iche Akarolo has handed over the people of Port Harcourt City LGA who were formerly in PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
Addressing supporters at the council secretariat, Hon. Akarolo said the people of Port Harcourt City were dissatisfied on the impunity, hostage and bad leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party hence the decision to defect to APC where there will be no more hostage and impunity.
Hon. Akarolo who is also the chairman of ALGON in Rivers State described Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the Mandela of Our time and a true democrat” who is bent on protecting the people of Port Harcourt City LGA and entire Rivers State, commended his bold step in defecting to APC.
Hon. Akarolo who was represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Nancy Steven expressed joy on the step taken by Governor Amaechi to join the party.
Similarly in their various speeches, Hon. Igo Aguma a former House of Representatives member and Hon. Mrs. Irene Inemgba a lawmaker representing Port Harcourt constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, said the people of Port Harcourt City LGA are tired of the impunity and high handedness of the Peoples Democratic Party hence the people of Port Harcourt City LGA have decided to move to the APC. ###
