Why I Am Contesting For BOT Chairman of ANLCA – Comrade Mustapha

A very senior member of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents, Comrade Taiwo Mustapha has given reason why he is seeking the position of the Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Association.

Comrade Mustapha drops the hint during an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt shortly after the zonal co-coordinator (Eastern Zone) ANLCA meeting.

The meeting was held in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

Comrade Mustapha expressed optimism that with the level of his performance, commitment and dedication to the organization he and his team has reposition the Association both locally and globally to an enviable position.

Comrade Mustapha who is also the group chairman Pyramid UICKA told journalists that his contributions to the growth of the association is a clear testimony of his indication to seek for higher position to propel the organization to a greater height.

The business mogul said he is prepared to do greater works for the group and the society at large if voted into office as the BOT chairman.

On his contributions to the association he said the record is there to speak for him but emphasized that he worked with the National President Prince Olayinola Shittu at the International level.

“ANLCA was not know at the international level but when Prince Olayiwola comes in ANLCA became a member of the international body of shipping and freight forwarding organization which I think I am behind him and I have been able to contribute to that which I think I should be able to work on that line further”. Mustapha maintained.

On the level of preparation to become the BOT chairman, he stated that the main issue is to canvass and convince his colleagues to vote for him through the presentation of his manifesto.

Earlier, the president of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu said he was in Port Harcourt to attend the zonal meeting of the association because “we have three zones in our association,” saying “Port Harcourt falls within the Eastern zone while they have concluded the meeting of the West and the body is moving to the North soon to sensitize our people and to prepare for the election of the Board of Trustees of the Association”.

On the outcome of meeting the National presidents he said people are keying in to the programme of the Federal Government and we are ready to collaborate with customs to ensure that the new clearing regime of power is achieved and we stand by it because its revenue generation to the government. “We are important in the Maritime industry because we are the revenue generators’, he asserted.

Explaining further on the challenges of the association, Prince Shittu said is multifarious, saying even the Federal Government has its own challenges.

He promised a free and fair election coming soon in Warri since the members have agreed and there was no rancour or acrimony among them.

Also speaking the present BOT chairman, Sir. Henry Njokwu said they are moving forward by making adequate preparation for the forth-coming election of the BOT.

In his address, the zonal co-ordinator (Eastern Zone), ANLCA, Chief Dennis Okwu stated that other Ports in the zone had gone comatose, except Onne Sea Ports and called for quick Government Intervention.

Sir. Okwu said the Comptroller General of Customs, Alh (Dr.) Dikko Inde Abullahi should visit the zone to see things for himself. ###
