P.H: Community Youths Seek Govt. Presence

Youths In The Amapakabo Polo Of Idango-Ama Community In The Port Harcourt City Local Government Area Have Appealed To The Rivers State Government To Show More Of Their Presence In The Community.

The Youths Who Spoke Through Their Acting Chairman, Comrade Tamunosiki James, Stated That The Roads In The Community Are Dilapidated, They Lack Medical Facilities Like Hospital Or Even A Health Centre. He Wondered Why A Government Which Built Over Two Hundred And Sixty Health Centres In The State Could Not Give Them Even One.

Comrade James Said The Population Living In The Community Is About Five Hundred Thousand. He Pleaded That The Government Should Come To Their Aide Before Things Get Worse.

Speaking Further, The Youth Leader Used The Medium To also Call On The Government And All Relevant Agencies To Also Address The Issue Of Unemployment Among Youths In The Area. He Opined That If The Government Cannot Provide Jobs For The Youths, Soft Loans Should Be Issued Out To Some Few Skilled Youths In The Area To Startup Small Scale Business, Insisting That It Will Go A Long Way In Addressing Poverty And Security Issues Both In Their Community And The State At Large.

He Further Called On Nigerians To Vote Massively For President Goodluck Jonathan Come 2015 Election While also Affirming That The People Of His Community Are Solidly Behind The President.

He Urged Youths To Be Very Weary Of Some Politicians Who May Want To Use Them To Cause Mayhem As The 2015 Election Approaches.
