Bonny Butchers Association Exchanges Baton Of Leadership

Sequel to the constitutional provisions of the Butchers Association Bonny (BAB), a general election of the association and subsequent inauguration was carried out last Sunday at the slaughter open hall — Coal Beach Bonny, the headquarters of the Bonny, local government area of Rivers State.
Members of the association filed out numbers to elect candidate of their choice to oversee the affairs of the body for the next four years.
The election which was adjudged free and fear, has eight excos duly elected. They are Alhaji Barau Musa-Chairman, Kabiru -Vice Chairman; Nnamnso Patrick-General Secretary, Mallam Abdulahi Adamu- Treasurer; Christian Okegwu- Financial Secretary.
Others are Habiru Shuaibu -Turn Sharer, Mallam Bola Adamu-Sanitation Chairman P.R.O- Mr. Life and Mrs. Allison Ex-Officio.
In his speech, the elected chairman Alhaji Barau Musa thanked all members of the association for peaceful conduct of the election; he assured that his administration will keep the flag of the association flying to a high esteem without hesitation and with the support of all.
The chairman lauded erstwhile executive for their achievements made so far; he appealed to them to give their maximum support to the present administration in the best interest of the association.
Barau who charged the elected officers to leave up to expectation and work as a team, assured that he will always project the image of the association at all level stressing any officer who will not work as expected will not be condone and if found wanting in discharge of his/her duties will be relieved of his/her position.
Barau reiterated that he contested the chairmanship position of the association so as to contribute his wealth of experience in building the association.
The chairman frowned against those who are expecting favour from their respective association than for them to contribute for the association’s success. He however, appealed for cooperation among Bonny Butchers Association.
Barau noted that his administration will work in line with the government policies so as to achieve its objectives.
The chairman who lamented the present dichotomy in BAB, preached for unity in the association.
Barau used the medium to appeal to Bonny Local Government to revisit Bonny slaughter so as to render assistance to the association because the state of the slaughter is obviously bad, he also lamented on insecurity of the slaughter, noting that Bonny slaughter is unkept and therefore need government assistance without delay as the rainy season is fast approaching.
The chairman who also assured that he will liaise with the multinationals in rebuilding Bonny slaughter, lauded the Amanyanabo in Council, King Edward Asimini Dappa William Pepple for providing peaceful environment for the citizenry in Bonny kingdom.
In his remarks, the out gone chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Qualid charged the elected officers to leave up to expectation, urged them to work as a team and shun rumour among them. Mustapha thanked members for turning out in a large number for the election.
