New leadership Emerges In K-Dere

A new leadership has emerged in Kegbara Dere Community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State with Enoch Tombari Gbarabe as Chairman Council of Chiefs and Elders, Festus Legbara emerges chairman, Community Development Committee and Sunny Olulu as the youth leader.

The nomination Committee Secretary, Mene Gbarabe made this known weekend at the Community Town Hall. The nomination committee was constituted by the Paramount Ruler Chief Fabian Francis Gberesuu and his cabinet some weeks ago.

Speaking at the occasion of presentation, the committee chairman Mr. Friday Korobe told people that it was not easy to come by the nomination as it was difficult to locate good persons and that since the committee members are human they might not have all right.

He further pleaded with any who had wished to be in the list but was not included to bear with the committee and wait for another turn. He added that all cannot rule at the same time saying that the forgone for today could be useful tomorrow.

Recalling the terms of reference, Koroba said that the paramount ruler did not dissolved the existing body and as well did not asked the nomination committee to do that, instead the committee is to add people to the existing one hence the committee did not dissolved the existing governing body.

Korobe who further commented on the work done so far, said since the committee was permitted to work it had added a new office which never existed, auditors who will audit and check all monetary source and spending of the community and give report to the community from time to time since accountability the problem of every governing regime of the community.

Earlier, the chairman council of Chiefs and Elders, Chief Enoch Tombari Gbarabe used the occasion to roll out the achievements made by his council since June date believing that better and more are coming in few days ahead. ###
