Now That Amaechi Becomes Transport Minister

After series of protests and petitions, the former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi passed through the hurdles of ministerial screening on the floor of the National Assembly.
On Wednesday the former Governor has finally being sworn-in by President Mohammadu Buhari as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Shortly after the swearing –in ceremony the President assigned portfolios to the new minister. Amaechi was assigned to the Federal Ministry of Transport.
No doubt the task before the Transport Ministry is enormous because the nation’s transport sector is in the state of moribund.
However, now that Amaechi has become the Transport Minister he should try to attract the attention of the Federal Government to complete the multi-billion naira white elephant project he abandoned.
The monorail project cannot bring any economic value to the state. One thing that the ex-governor will do for the Rivers people is liaise with his boss, President Buhari to complete the abandoned mono-rail project, as to remove shame and disgrace to his administration.
Let us this time to felicitate with Amaechi for his new appointment. We believe that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear as he takes up a fresh national assignment. ###
