Rivers: APC Budgets N25bn For Re-run Polls

Hon.-Dakuku-1As the re-run elections in the various constituencies in Rivers State come closer, impeccable sources hinted this weekly that the leadership of the Rivers chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has budgeted a total sum of twenty-five billion naira (N25bn) for the next month re-run elections in the state.
The said sum is to finance the entire process of the election, including settling of security agents and other electoral officers.
We reliably gathered that each local government area will get one billion naira (N1bn), irrespective of the numbers of wards and polling units.
An high ranking officer of the party informed our correspondent that, the APC is fully prepared for the upcoming re-run elections in the state, adding that money can not constitute problems to the victory of the party, adding that the APC will do everything possible to succeed.
He expressed optimism that the planned N25bn budgeted will be judiciously used doing the re-run.
However, information had it that the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC under the leadership of Mrs. Ibim Simeritari will be a major strong source of financial aid to finance the re-run polls in the state. APC chieftain also told our reporter that the leadership of the party at the state level has made it mandatory for contestants to pay certain huge sum of money into the party’s coffer before the end of the month of January.
The huge sum that will be paid by the contestants will also serve as a veritable source of finance to run the planned re-election in February.
The APC chieftain did not tell our reporter how much each contestant will pay, but impeccable sources revealed that each contestants will contribute not less than five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) each irrespective of the elective office he or she is eyeing or seeking to occur. ###
