Rivers CP Restructures Anti-kidnapping Squad

The Rivers State Anti-kidnapping squad is now wearing a new look following the new structure put in place by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo by upgrading the men of the squad and also providing enabling environment for them to carry out their operations so as to tackle the faceless activities of kidnapping carrying out by the unscrupulous in the society.

This was made known when the crime reporters visited the office of the Anti-kidnapping unit at the Mini Okoro Police Station in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area at the weekend. The crime reporters, visited the office to investigate a report that was lodged by some parents that their children were arrested and detained unlawfully by the men of Anti-kidnapping squad while they were carrying out an operation in their community. However, all efforts to contact the Commander of the squad proved abortive as his men did not allow the crime reporters to see him.

When contacted the image marker of the Rivers Police command, Mr. Mohammad Ahmad said that there is no atom of truth from the allegation that the officers cannot make any arrest without their children’s involvement in any matter.   ###
