The prodigious and proficient Kalabari born artist of Rivers state, Emmanuel Amachree, popularly known as Oba Omega, the Krikata zoom master, thrilled his fans with the recent launch at land Mark Hotel, Worlu Street, off Olu Obasanjo, D/line, Port Harcourt, as artistes and dignitaries from different states graced the event.
In a brief chat with news men at the launching, Emmanuel Amachree, disclosed that he left the shores of Nigeria and toiled immensely in other countries in search of greener pastures. He revealed that he came back from Ivory Coast to Nigeria after 15 years of suffering and started afresh as a result of the crises that rocked the country.
He posited that he would spend his last kobo and breath as part of his contribution toward the restoration of peace in Rivers state.
Still speaking, he admonished upcoming artiste to be prayerful, unique in all their doings, carry out research and be qualitative rather than being quantitative.
Mr. Sobebo Princewill, The Rivers State co-coordinator of the Foundation for Peace and Non-violence in Nigeria (Kalabari chapter), who presented the award of Ambassador for Peace (2011) to Emmanuel Amachree, stated that the award was presented to him in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of peace in Rivers State, and for portraying the kalabari kingdom in good light.
The renounced artistes expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all his fans, adding that the avalanche of awards he had received was not made possible by money as one can only deceive him or herself but cannot deceive the entire people.
Finally, he expressed his profound gratitude to the Rivers state Government for giving him the award of the Rivers state Tourism Ambassador conferred on him by the ministry of culture and tourism and also non-violence in Nigeria (Kalabari chapter) for the ambassador for peace award (2011) as he further advised upcoming artiste to emulate his footsteps. #####
