BSN Won’t Relent in Winning Souls For Christ – Rev. Jim-Odoi

The President Rivers Baptist Conference, Rev. Ogadinma Edward Jim-Odoi has re-echoed the primary assignment of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) in translating and publishing the Holy Bible into indigenous languages, describing it as a mission accomplished.
Rev. Jim-Odoi stated this Tuesday while delivering a keynote address at the 2012 Life Members Conference of the body in Port Harcourt.
He commended the BSN for its efforts in helping people interact with God’s word in their native languages, thereby confirming the power of language.
Speaking on the theme, “Accountability”, the President said one of the ways to win and sustain the confidence and support God’s people is to demonstrate the spirit of accountability, as underscored by the theme. He maintained that Nigeria needs public leaders who will serve the people with sense of accountability and probity.
In his remarks at the event, the Rivers/Bayelsa Area of BSN, Ven. Rufus Etire said Christians should be mindful that whatever they do here on earth is recorded in heaven and shall be recalled at the throne of judgment.
He challenged BSN adherents to always remember that they must give account of their stewardship to God and man. Ven. Etire cautioned those giving excuses to avoid rendering services to God to have a rethink.
He said the conference was meant to bring life members together to interact with one another, as well as raise funds for the building of the Bible House.
Ven. Etire frowned at the attitude of some members towards the house project and thanked Buguma and Port Harcourt Auxiliaries for redeeming their levies of N1m each. He called on others to emulate them.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion Someari Isaac-Harry who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Prudence Isaac-Harry had thanked the organizers for a job well done. He thanked God for his mercies, praying that the event be successful.
Highlight of the event was cutting of the conference cake and fund raising. ###
