Bodo Youth Council Vows To Fight Social Vices…As Youth Sensitization, Mobilization Underway

The Bodo Youth Council President Mr. Borve Paago Vows that the Youth body will do everything within it power to return Bodo City to it lost glory.
Mr. Paago make the vow at the dedication service at the Apostolic Church Bodo Maritime Field, Bodo City in Gokona Local Government Area, on 20th January, 2013.
Delivering his sermon, the pastor, Prof. Joseph Lema said dedication to God is very important in once life because it protect one from the unseen enemies and God will always intervene in the activities of the person.
Prof. Lema who read the sermon from the book of genesis chapter 1:3-5 told the congregation that God said let there be light and there was light that it was good and God divided the light from darkness.
The clergyman stated that light and darkness can not operate together, he therefore charge the youth council to only seek the face of God and that they should love one another to make the community more forward so that they can find favour from the local government, the state and others. Highlight of and the event was prayers and dedication of members to God the president was asked to raise money for the pastor’s assistance as the rite of the Apostolic Church.
Addressing journalist after the event the youth president Mr. Borve Paago vow to fight against all social vices like rape, cultism, hooliganism and disrespect to constituted authority.
He said the Youth Executive Council will foster as an intermediary between community, the church and the Youth.
The president stated that they will put the youth first in their plan of action especially in their development plan know that the youth must be reckon with as a force and they should act according to the dictate of the community, the local government and respect all relevant laws of the state.
On the issue of employment form, the President said the announcement is to help the youth of Bodo City to pick form to create a data base for easy access.
Also speaking, the secretary of the Bodo Mr. Emmanuel Putono said the day is a memorable day. When asked what plan they have in 2013, the secretary said they will put in place a skill acquisition training for youths in the area, and on the data base for unemployed youths. He said they will be link to them area of employment.
Answering question on some pocket of opposition among youths in the community the Bodo Youth Council Secretary maintained that any dissident will be treated accordingly but urge others to join them in the interest of peace and development of Bodo City.
The council has earlier frown at negative attitude of some youths and tasked Bodo people to return to their days of hospitality for prosperity to come in. ###
