No Basis For Threats On Jonathan’s Re-election

Chief Sir. Ernest Elochukwu has said that those who are fighting over President Jonathan second tenure ambition should put up a reasonable argument as to be discussed openly why he should contest or should not contest.
He suggested that though President Jonathan has not come out to declare his intention either to contest or not those who are either against or in support of President Jonathan seeking re-election should openly discuss where they would give their reason for or against his re-election.
According to him, if President Jonathan is fit to contest what is the reason behind his re-election’. Is he qualified constitutionally or not they should prove than issuing threats here and there.
He maintained that President could not be accused of running his second tenure already as the former was to complete his late predecessors tenure but was constitutionally elected by Nigerians in 2011.
Saying that President Jonathan reign as president started from 2011 where he was constitutionally elected into office by Nigerians as provided by the Nigeria constitution.
Chief Elochukwu argued that the constitution has provision for Jonathan to seek re-election for his second tenure, therefore his kinsmen or those against his re-election should make their argument constitutionally to prove their points and reason so that it will be enriching, analytical for the well being of the country.
According to Elochukwu, if President Jonathan should seek for second tenure, there are variables he should be assessed with. The formular he adopted, the actions he has taken, the appointment he made to run his government, his approach to common national issues, are all these done to promote national unity in government the ethos should all be examined.
He said further that before coming to conclusion of either Jonathan had performed or not, he should be examined on the environment he operated, is the government trouble free when he runs the government, if there is a trouble free government for the President, then has he provided all what he promised, these questions would provide the desire assessment and answer for President Jonathan.
Sir. Elochukwu stated that those who are clamouring on rotation or zoning principles should also consider that every part of this country is capable of providing a reliable leader, hence the rotation principle should be encourage. He said it will afford all the zones sense of belonging and contribute to the national unity and peace, saying the governors that asked Jonathan not to contest 2015 do not have that right constitutionally.###
