ANOLGA Monthly Thanksgiving Programme, Not Mere Ritual …As Appointees Took Oath Of Office

Staff of the Andoni Local Government Council and Politicians alike have been charged to support the present administration to achieve success and attach importance to the Council monthly thanksgiving service and prayer session as a spiritual exercise noting that the result of it has been awesome.

Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Council, Elder (Hon) Sampson Gilbert Egop gave the charge during the June monthly thanksgiving service held on July 2nd 2014, while addressing the congregation at the prayer session.

The Chairman advised workers against taking the programme as a mere ritual rather as a spiritual exercise with much benefit, saying that God was always present.

“This monthly service is not a normal ritual as some of you may think. I attached special importance to this programme from my first day in office as Vice Chairman. I want us to attach importance to the programme because God is here”, Egop remarked.

Elder Egop further called on the men of God to pray assiduously for the Council to succeed noting that one month has gone and whatever development programmes of the administration commences in earnest.

Earlier, the preacher at the service Pastor Emmanuel Gilbert Egop, has urged the Council to arise and move forward positing that the journey to performance by the present committee was somehow delayed by the people, and that it is time to move forward.

Pastor Emmanuel, who spoke on the topic “Delay is Dangerous”, taken from Deuteronomy chapter 2 told the congregation of staff about the human wisdom brought by leaders of the Israelite when they delayed their journey other than God’s instructions to move and take over.

The Pastor said victory was sure when God was in a battle, encouraged the Council as recorded in verse 24 of the above scriptures to “Rise up and take over”. “When God ask you to do something don’t allow anything to distract you”, Emmanuel assert.

According to him, the second half of the year indicates change of position and taking possession, describing the thanksgiving service as a dressing room where preparations are made, urging everyone to give up to arrogance in office and look up to God, even before entering into any agreement.

Speaking to the staff, he advised them to put in their best while carrying out their daily duties and appealed to the politicians to support and take care of staff as the chairman takes care of all entrusted into his hands without intimidation.

Highlight of the service was a life saving testimony by Comrade E. Abiante whose family was saved from fire outbreak in the house.

In a similar development, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee Elder, Egop has sworn-in into office two officers of council.

They are Mr. Arunga E. Arunga as Secretary to Council and Mr. Jones Ogbuluija as Chief of Staff.

The Chairman, had charged them to bring to bear their wealth of experiences to the success of the Caretaker administration, noting that the committee has 3 months to perform.

According to the Chairman, the committee’s delay in its operations in the past one month was for obvious reasons beyond their control but admonished the newly sworn-in officers to be steadfast as the administration would move with speed to cover up for the past month while advocating for cooperation to ensure that the APC platform is well represented. ###
