Cholera Outbreak: 20 Persons Die In Andoni LGA

At last twenty (20) persons were reportedly dead in the Andoni Local Government Area, following the sudden outbreak of cholera.

Our health correspondent reported that the epidemic affected no fewer than ten (10) communities in the area.

Those communities affected according to our correspondent include: Ebukuma, Agana, Ukwe, Ataba, Ngo, Agwut-Obolo, Okoloile amongst others.

Speaking to newsmen, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the LGA, Deacon Emmanuel Ikwut confirmed the outbreak of the deadly scourge in the area.

Meanwhile, stakeholders in the affected communities have blamed the Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi led administration of not providing portable drinking water for them. They called on the state government and the relevant agencies to provide drinking water for the communities to avoid further occurrence. ###
