I Am Suspicious Of Nigeria Age Grade Football – Chief Elochukwu

ELOCHUKWUWhile Nigeria seek to celebrate another outing in the FIFA world youths soccer competition in Chile, the former captain of Port Harcourt lawn tennis section, 1928, Chief (Sir) Elochukwu has said that he has his doubts of how sincere Nigeria features her players in the age grade football.

According to him, Nigeria has never featured a true age of the players when playing at the world stage. This has made the articulate sports stakeholder to have his doubt about Nigeria Golden Eaglets.

Though, Nigeria had been in the world stage and had made significant impression over the years, the never deceived personality of Chief (Sir) Ernest Elochukwu is never deceived at all. He pointed out that though Nigeria may have a good record, the country had never features the right age, hence when Nigeria lifted the trophy he is never impressed.

To him, using 25 years old man against 17years old boy is never giving Nigeria the desire blessing, the country ought to gain.

Sir. Elochukwu is a man which opinion counts as he says it as it, not minding whose horse is gore, said, the politics introduced into Nigerian football has further worsen football development and growth in the country.

He stressed that, the rate politics is striving in Nigeria football is such that everybody want to benefit from football without thinking of developing or it effect it has in the country football.

In his opinion, until politicians hands off football and make football development open and purposeful for the corporate organization to come in, the country will never have it good.

“Many corporate organizations are interested to sponsor football in Nigeria but the politicians would not just want to make it open because of the financial gains they are deriving in it”. ###
