LGA Poll Is Democracy In Action – Kabari

The outgoing Caretaker Committee Chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Comrade Kadilo Kabari said the just concluded Local Government poll conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RSIEC was democracy in action.

Comrade Kabari stated this shortly after he casted his vote in the last Saturday’s election was devoid of rigging/writing fake results as it was done in the previous elections and most importantly the election in all the wards of Gokana was peaceful and free and fair.

He said the fact speaks for itself where people of Gokana came out in their numbers and voted as part of exercising their franchise.

“We can see the passion, the enthusiasm and you can see the quest where Gokana people came out to vote a radical departure from what happened in the past where hoodlums stole, the mandate and announced fake results” he stated.

He maintained that democracy is the government of the people by the people for the people. From ward 1 to ward 17, it was peaceful without acrimony.

“There was no case of electoral violence which shows those who pose electoral problem is not part of this one” he maintained.

On the part of commending RSIEC, he said commendation goes to the law enforcement agencies, the police, the army, the people who came out to vote and RSIEC. It is a radical departure from where Gokana people where robbed and we are seeking justice at the tribunal.

Comrade Kadilo further explained some of his achievements include: peace and stability, power was restored in Gokana.

Jamb computer base testing was also organized for free where Gokana people came out third, youths were trained to connect the Consate satelite were about 7 million was save because those trained will install in Gokana free. Other areas of achievements are payment of bursary students who benefited during the short period in office something that was done for a very long time in Gokana.

The council boss commended the people of Gokana for their support during his tenure. ###
