Coach Emmanuel Amunike, the coach of the gallant Golden Eaglets is about to add another father to his cap as the coach that has not only played football to lift Nigeria’s name up in his good playing days but he has discovered for the national team Super Eagles quality players.
He (Amunike) had scored for Nigeria winning goals as a player even becoming, “African player of the year and now he had discovered crops of talented players for the Super Eagles.
Watching his tutored lads against any side in the just concluded FIFA organized junior world cup, in each department, Nigeria Super Eagles have cause to be happy, if only the football administrators of Nigeria could give these young players a chance to mature or translate into the main team of the Super Eagles.
From the goalkeeping department to the attack, Nigerians should be happy to smile that a new generation of committed players have just been born.
More importantly, new set of midfielders are in the offing for grab by European clubsides.
Nigeria is good in producing world class players from the age grade football but always fiddle out from the big stage because lack of encouragement from the Nigeria Football Federation and Football administrators.
Coach Amunike have harvested talented players for the country and premier clubsides all over the world, is now left for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the football society to encourage these young stars to blossomed into limelight at the big stage.
The players themselves should be more disciplined, focused, and down to earth so as not to allow their success at the junior world stage to get into their heads, which if they allow to happen will only destroy their promising football career. ###
