Bonny: Longjohn Major House Honoured Illustrious Son

The chiefs and head of Longjohn Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom, Chief Dr. Osohooy Rogers Longjohn, had on 16th January 2016, commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Barr. Nyeson Ezenwo Wike for appointing their illustrious son Amasenibo, Hon. Rodaford O. Longjohn, as commissioner of Local Government affairs Rivers State.
The commendation was made at the Longjohn Major House play ground, Bonny in the Bonny local government area of Rivers State, during a reception organized by the entire members of Longjohn Major House of Bonny to honour their illustrious son on his appointment into the State Executive Council.
Chief Dr. O.R. Longjohn noted that the appointment of Hon. Rodaford Longjohn is well deserved, while assuring that the commissioner will efficiently discharge his official assignments without fear or favour.
Chief Longjohn tasked the new commissioner to live up to expectation in his official duties so as to promote the image of Longjohn Major House and Bonny Kingdom. Prayers of blessings were showered on the commissioner Hon. Rodaford O. Longjohn.
On behalf of the entire member of Longjohn Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom, Chief OR Longjohn presented an award of good conduct to the Commissioner, Rodaford O. Longjohn.
In his remarks, the commissioner, Hon. Rodaford 0. Longjohn lauded the chiefs and the entire members of Longjohn Major House, the Abalamabie Se group of houses and entire Bonny Local Government for the honour done him.
He pointed out that his appointment is a blessing to Longjohn Major House and Bonny local government “1 promise to creditably discharge my official assignment effectively so as to protect the image of my family and Bonny kingdom”
The commissioner used the medium to thank the chiefs and the head of Longjohn Major House for his enablement in bringing peace and unity in Longjohn house, despite the political differences in the area.
Hon. R.O. Longjohn noted that he will use his good working relation with the state governor to improve on the well being of the electorate in the area. Adding that PDP is Lhe only party that can savage the masses.
Hon. Longjohn frowned at those who have gained appointment from the state with nothing to show their contribution to Bonny LGA, saying that the era has gone when many will be sent to Government House without proper representation of Bonny people.
While assuring that his party will ever remain peaceful in Bonny LGA Mr. Daniel Dublin Green presented an award of excellence leadership to the new commissioner by the non-indigenes without borders Bonny chapter.
According to a citation note read by the organizing committee chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Oghulu Longjohn confirmed that Hon. Arnasenbo Rodaford O. Longjohn is the first Commissioner ever by Abalambie Se Community.
The occasion was witnessed by the PDP faithful, elite, friends and well wishers of the conmissioner.
The chairman highlighted some political positions Hon. Rodaford O. Longjohn has held: both State and Bonny LGA. That he was the youngest serving member of Bonny Local Government Council during Melford Okilo, Dr. Frank Eke led administration in Rivers State, the youth leader of NRC Bonny Chapter, Longjohn Later became the chairman of NRC Bonny Chapter.
Emmanuel noted that from 1999 – 2007 Hon. Rodaford O. Longjohn was elected chairman of Bonny Local Government Council for six years.
He pointed out that during the administration of Longjohn as Chairman of Bonny Local Government Council, the shore protection in Longjohn Abalamabie was constructed, adding that because of his dexterity in politics, the Late Eze, Chief Dr. Frank Eke conferred the title of Eze Chituru on Hon. Rodaford O. Longjohn in 2006.
A colourful Owu-Aru Masquerades was in display to entertain the audience . ###
