Close Down Illegal Parks And Markets …Abali Park Chairman Urges Amaechi

The chairman ofAbaliPark, Chief Bethel Dappa, has called on the Rivers State Government under the leadership of Rt.  Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to close down all mushroom illegal parks operating outside the main park and erect fence round the area.

Chief Dappa made the appeal in a chat with journalists inPort Harcourtrecently. According to him, closing down all illegal parks outside the main park and bringing in transporters who ply different routes withinPort Harcourtto other states of the federation to the main  park as well as fencing the area became necessary  to ensure sanity in the place.

The Chairman of theAbaliParkwho decried the unholy operation of the illegal traders outside the main park, explained that the traders have littered the area with all manner of waste defacing the environment. He urged government to remove all traders operating outside the park and bring them inside the main park to ensure clean environment.

On the operation of the hoodlums and criminals who operate in the area and commit all kinds of atrocities, Chief Dappa noted that the reason for building a police station in the area was to secure the place effectively, stressing that the police posted to the area have been trying their best to secure the area. He pointed out that fencing the area and removing the illegal traders operating in the area would go a long way in securing the place .

On the celebration of the 51st Independence Anniversary by Nigerians, Chief Dappa noted that the Independence Anniversary was worthy to be celebrated becauseNigeriahas improved since 1960, more so during civilian administration than the military regime.

Chief Dappa who commended Governor Amaechi for his developmental strides across the 23 LGAs of the state, appealed to him to consolidate on his achievements and ensure that the N18,000 minimum wage owed to civil servants is increased to N25,000 to improve their lives. ###
