Grace Covenant Ministries Dedicates Cathedral

Grace Covenant Ministries held a thanksgiving service on Sunday, April 29, 2012, as a follow-up of the dedication of their Cathedral a day earlier at No. 88 East-West Road, Eli-Ogbolo, Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In his sermon at the church service, one of the Officiating Ministers and also a guest speaker at the event, Rev. (Dr) Felix Omobude, whose message was anchored on the theme: “I shall return with testimonies”, prayed and enjoined worshippers at the Thanksgiving Service to believe that those who may have laughed at them or written them off as nothing, shall come to laugh and rejoice with them.
In her testimony, after Rt. Rev, and Pst. (Mrs.) Winston T. Iwo, President/Founder, Grace Covenant Ministries, Inc., were blessed by Apostle G. D. Numbere; Dr. Mrs. Mina Tele Ikuru, wife of Rivers State Deputy Governor, told worshippers at the service that she decided to open up for the first time on some of the challenges she faced at beginning of her husband’s political carrier in 2007.
Following Rev. Omobude’s sermon, Mrs. Ikuru was proud to state that despite her challenges and present position in the state, that she is proud to be counted a one of the owners of the largest poultry farm in Rivers State. She thereby enjoined every one at the service to engage their hands with something and look up to what God will do in their lives as preached earlier on by Omobude. Mina used the medium to call on interested persons to come to Deputy Governor’s lodge, every Wednesday, at 2:30 pm for business empowerment lectures and to see how they could be assisted to help grow their businesses. Both Dr. Mina Ikuru and Senator Sekibo George sowed their seeds to God at the service.
Shortly after the church service, Rt. Rev. Winston Iwo, the President/Founder, Grace Covenant Ministries, Inc. told news men in a chat that he served under late Bishop Okonkwo for 20 years and had a call which he obeyed in 1999. He affirmed that the road to his call in the past 13 years has not been easy, but likened it to that of a pregnant woman that will not remember or know no pain again, after giving birth to a baby.
Responding to the issue of security threats in the country, Rev. Iwo said that God cannot do every thing, stressing the need for every body to be involved in the issue of security. He urged the Church to be cautious, pray for peace to reign in the country, adding that if not for the prayers of the people of God, that this country would have collapsed before now.
Rev. Winston maintained that God is wrapping up his program on earth, considering the high rate of crimes, immorality and insecurity in Nigeria and other parts of the world. On a personal opinion, Rt. Rev. Iwo said he will support the call for a National Conference, if that will be the only remedy to foster peace among the geo-political zones in the country, or as platform for the people to come together to proffer solutions on how best to move the country forward. ###
