The body is an association of youths from the three (3) zones of Ohaji/Egbema in Ohaji/Egbema LGA and Agwa in Oguta LGA, all in Imo State, that donated their lands to the establishment of former Adapalm Nig. Elumezie disclosed that the council has over the time been monopolized by a single person in their unit, adding that the lapses in representation and losses encountered by his unit (UYC), was why he was elected as the National President, with Mr. Hermas Onumara, National Secretary and Mr. Prosper Okwudiri Obiero as the Public Relations Officer (PRO), amongst other 3 members in the National Executive Council (NEC), to address some of the lapses.
Elumezie further commended the Board of Trustees (BOT), Chairman of Ohazji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council and the first President of the Council, Hon. Vitalis Jakponna, for his mentorship in the business of the council, which he said has sustained the body till date.
He lauded the Zonal Leader in Agwa and the ELECO Chairman of the Youth Council for sticking to harmonization and ensuring peace and stability in carrying out his assignment, for the best interest of the council.
Comrade Tochukwu used the medium to appeal to all Youth Presidents, Leaders, Zonal Leaders and BOT members from various units and zones of the council to ensure peace and unity, before and after the council election and called on his fellow delegates, to vote for him as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the youth council, in the coming election. ###
