RSG Set To Declare 27th January Public Holidays

Plans are underway to declare every 27th January public holiday in Rivers State to attract God’s blessings and protection.
Addressing people of the state and other men of God at a thanksgiving and dedication service of Rivers State at the Alfred Diette Spiff Civil Centre in Port Harcourt, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi the governor of Rivers State hinted of his plan to sponsor a private bill that will make every 27th of January a day of thanksgiving in the state.
According to him, I will urge the State House of Assembly to pass into law a day of thanksgiving to God, if it fall on Sunday, we organize a service, it falls in ordinary days we will declare it a work free day” stressing that thanksgiving attracts God blessing and protection.
Governor Amaechi who noted that the secret of his success is by being grateful to God said that he did not depend on anything else than God.
The Chief Executive Officer of the state who recalled his travail after being declared winner at the PDP primary election in November, 2006 said his ascendance to power in the state was a divine grace of God and therefore has nothing to fear, especially those who want to pull him down, stressing that he has utilized the state resources to better the lives of Rivers people.
According to him, God wants me to embark on social projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people of the state. He recalled his achievements such as building of new model primary schools of 14 classrooms fitted with `16 toilets each supported with free education, building of 120 out of 160 health centres among others.
Earlier in his sermon the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye disclosed that the projects embarked upon by the present administration led by Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a demonstration of God’s mercy and grace and urged the people of the state not to relent in thanking God for him to do more.
Other men of God who prayed at the ceremony includes, Dr. Emma Ukpai, Apostle David Zilly Aggrey the President of CAN, PFM Rivers State and a host of others.
