Osaronu Celebrates 75th Birthday

The palace of the paramount ruler of Onne, King (Dr.) John Dennis Osaronu on Saturday, March 30, 2013 was agog as the King marked his 75th Birthday.

King Osaronu used the event to demonstrate his Godly character when he pronounced forgiveness to his opponents whom according to him wanted to unseat him previously.

The king thereby gave thanks to God and applauded those who stood by him in the days of his struggle with the oppositions especially Hon. Oji N. Ngofa, Arch-Bishop Ignatus C. O. Katty for not only correcting the unfounded accusations leveled against him by the opposition, but revealed the truth and enlightened the citizenry on the facts of it.

Also thanked the king of Eleme Kingdom, HRM King S. O Ejire for telling the opposition the truth, the commissioner for Sport, Rivers State Hon. Fred M. Igwe who did well to silenced the oppositions and Chief Ejor Ngowah Ejor, the Emere Onueta 1 of Onne who stood strongly by him, declared to die with him in the case.

He appreciated numerous companies on Onne land for developing Onne.

In his welcome address, the palace coordinator, Prince (Dr.) Onu Obarijima Osaronu thanked several companies and individuals who have always been with them in time of sorrow and joy and appreciated God for giving wisdom throughout the king’s time of adversary from the oppositions.

In another development the stepfather of the Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Fred Igwe, Chief John J. Ogusi gave glory to God who made Fred a commissioner in Rivers State government.

According to him, Fred is an epitome of humility who will never say no to his instructions, adding that Fred become what he is out of humility.

Ogusi went on to advise Fred never to show up as God is the only one who raise some body.

The Honourable Commissioner in his speech advised the youths of Eleme to embrace education saying that if they neglect education upon all the companies in Eleme, they will only come out to serve as labourers.

Again, Fred Igwe confessed that he collects awards and title from his people not because he should add to his name but that such honours bestowed on him does not puff his head rather encourages him to get closer to the people and continue to be humble to do more to his people.

He further stated that Eleme doesn’t found him taken side on issues or supporting evil hence they will be giving him title as they think best.

Highlight of the occasion includes award of honour and chieftaincy titles on Eleme sons, personalities and companies who have distinguished their position to the service of the Onne community, performance from cultural groups and book launch. ###
