RIVLEAF Inuagurates Ahoada East Chapter, Extols Amaechi’s Quality

 

The Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) has inaugurated it’s Ahoada East chapter of the body.

The inauguration ceremony which took place on Saturday 27th April, 2013 was performed at the council secretariat.

Addressing the crowd at the event the president of RIVLEAF, Chief Hon. Alex Wele described Gov. Chibuike Amaechi as a pragmatic leader whose style of leadership have brought development to Rivers State.

Hon. Wele who is also a special Assistant to the governor maintained that development in the state today emanates from the days of active participation in student’s unionism by the governor when he was national leader in both National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) and National Association of Nigerian’s students (NANS).

Hon. Wele described RIVLEAF as s body of young intellectuals who have been trained and with the baptism of dedication, hard work and discipline, and urge Rivers people to follow the footsteps of the governor.

Also speaking, the chairman of Ahoada East L.G.A Hon. Cassidy Ikegbidi said Governor Amaechi has done well in the state and those who believe in his style of leadership should declare their stand. The Chairman said the current situation in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) calls for loyalty, steadfastness and commitment. The Council Boss told the crowd that in time to come people will remember Governor Amaechi the way Lagos people remembered their past Governor Chief Bola Tinubu.

In his speech, the Chairman of the occasion Chief Kingsley Nwuche stated that the Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi have done well because of the infrastructure and human capital development in the state and others should emulate him.

Chief Nwuche said since the leader of RIVLEAF is the governor it is imperative that the leadership style should be spread to all the LGA through this laudable organization. He said “if a man perform well, act well then he will call him his brother; so governor is his brother”.

In their separate solidarity messages Chief Andy Nweye former National Orientation Director Rivers State (NOA) and Dr. Olulube said RIVLEAF is an organization with people of high integrity, dedication and leadership quality and should be encouraged. RIVLEAF Executive members have earlier paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of Ahoada East high Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi at his country home.

Highlight of the event was the lecture tagged “Democratic Leadership; Governor Amaechi’s perspective delivered by Dr, Mac-Ognor of the Dept. of political and administrative studies, University of Port Harcourt.

Some of those inaugurated are Orisa Okpara Prince Chairman, Ugwu Mac Sunday – Vice Chairman, Adamu Moses Secretary and Graham Douglas Okpanta publicity secretary. Those who graced the occasion were Barr. Solomon Obeku S.A. to the Governor, Chief Andy Nweye and the secretary of the Ahoada East LGA Mr.

Goddy Okamu who was appointed into the advisory council of RIVLEAF. ###

Eleme: Ngofa Grants Pardon To Cultists

The Chairman of Eleme Local Government Council, Hon. Orji Ngofa has granted pardon to some cultists who were involved in the killings of Ebubu community after they submitted weapons to the Peace and Reconciliation Committee.

            Hon. Ngofa stated this at a thanksgiving service held at Assemblies of Christ World-Wide Church in the Area.

            He said the cultists were given pardon in a bid to allow peace to reign in the community, adding they submitted over 24 weapons and ammunition including AK 47 rifle to the committee.

            He promised to rehabilitate them, adding that his administration will engage them in activities that will benefit them by providing employment to better their lives.

            He however, warned youths of the area to desist from acts of cultism and other criminal activities, stressing that such acts will only bring disunity and lawlessness in the community.

            The President of Ebubu Youth Council, Mr. Atonse Obari Oginja said he will work to ensure the eradication of Cultism in the area and initiate ventures that will benefit them.

            He therefore, promised to partner and liaise with the Local Government Council to ensure Youths of the area stay away from cultism and put in place mechanism that will sustain long lasting peace in the area.
