Eleme People Are Solidly Behind Amaechi – Hon. Igwe…As RIVLEAF Inaugurates Eleme Chapter

The Rivers Commissioner for Sports Hon. Fred Igwe said the Eleme people are solidly behind the governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

Hon. Igwe made the remark at the inauguration of the Eleme chapter of Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation RIVLEAF recently at Ogale, Eleme Local Govt Area of Rivers State.

The Sports Commissioner stated that Eleme people are not and will never play opposition politics since it is not favourable.

He used the occasion to advise those nursing any ambition that is contrary to think twice because Eleme people are not ready to support any group that is not in line with that of the governor of Rivers State.

Hon. Igwe who was a on time council chairman of Eleme LGA told the crowd that the Governor of Rivers State, Hon. Amaechi and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan are already building tent together, living no room for detractors and peace has been restored.

He warned those peddling rumours of disaffection to stop forthwith stop it, as the state is no longer in need for further crises.

In his remark, the chairman of the occasion HRH Chief Bebe Okpabi said the council chapter of RIVLEAF when inaugurated should take charge of advancement of leadership in Eleme.

He condemned the process whereby those who get assisted into power turn around and pin frustrate others, causing unnecessary chaos and destruction.

He recalled that during the eight years of governor Peter Odili, the then Speaker Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi was doing everything possible to help Ikwerre people. The two time commissioner tasked the people to seek modern ways of advancing leadership and educating others.

In his welcome address, the chairman of the council Hon. Orji N. Ngofa maintained that politics must be played with morality and credibility for progress.

He said politics must come with truth and good leadership to move the people forward.

The Eleme council’s Boss charged RIVLEAF to continue to sensitize and mobilize the best brains, who are trained in leadership so that the state will not be ruled by misguided elements.

He stated that politics must be geared towards the good of the society and service to the people, saying it is difficult to defeat the governor because he has done well. He said five lawmakers cannot in any way impeach a speaker of the House of Assembly and while advised RIVLEAF to teach the people the real ideas behind some of the crises in Rivers State, stating that Eleme people will resist any form of impunity.

In his inauguration speech, President of RIVLEAF Hon. Wele Alex said no true member of the organization can sit on the fence because those who are not with them are against them.

The president charged them to work with the leaders and those holding political offices from Eleme LGA and that they should use the platform to expand in their membership, especially in the various wards.

Hon. Wele assured the people of Eleme that the battle for the soul of Rivers State is over, saying that God has delivered Rivers State from the hands of detractors.

Hon. Wele who is also a Special Adviser to the governor stated that those who planned to take power by force in the state have failed.

He used the occasion to condemn any act of torture on the Leader of Rivers State House of Assembly Hon. Chidi Llyod.

 The guest lecturer Sir. Obianko Nwolu Elechi who is also the Rector Rivers State Polytechnic Bori in his lecture titled Advancing Good Governance in a Developing Democracy, Governor Amaechi’s example” stated that one of the problem of mankind is greediness and quest for materialism.

Sir. Nwolu posited that development comes with growth of the people, as the governor has done well in the area of health care, education and human capital development.###
