PHALGA Politicians Vow To Support Amaechi

The political Leaders in the Port Harcourt city Local Government Area have vowed to support the governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

The leaders made the remark at the sensitization and inauguration of Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) PHALGA chapter on Friday 16th August, 2013 at Elekahia Town Hall.

In his opening remark, the chairman of the occasion Hon. Worgu Boms, the Attorney General and commissioner for justice Rivers State, represented by Hon. Victoria Nyeche, member representing PHALGA constituency 1, in the Rivers State House of Assembly urged PHALGA people to come together to support the governor especially at this time of political crisis in the state.

Hon. Nyeche stated that the caliber of dignitaries who graced the occasion is an indication of love for the state.

She commended RIVLEAF for the initiative especially going to the grassroot to educate people on policies and programmes that constitute good leadership.

The chairman charged those to be inaugurated and other leaders at the occasion to always show leadership qualities in all their endeavours.

The House of Assembly member said most of the problems facing the country today and the state is leadership crisis and advised RIVLEAF to do all they could to sanitize the people of the state, since they know what a good leader is especially a good leader like Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

In his speech, the chief of staff Government House Hon. Tony Okocha stated that there is no doubt on whether the governor support, sponsor or accept the organization as their grand patron. He said the clarification become necessary since some people are insinuating that the governor wants to make it categorically clear on his total support for RIVLEAF.

The chief of staff told the crowd that all need to join in the condemnation of those who out of their selfish reason, political aggrandizement and greediness refused to see the good developmental stride by the governor.

Hon. Okocha maintained that as politician, one cannot seat on the fence while congratulating the RIVLEAF leadership for their vision especially in choosing to spread the message of good leadership.

Earlier, the president of RIVLEAF, Hon. Alex Wele charge the newly inaugurated LGA and ward executive to show the exemplary style of leadership by expanding the message to all part of the LGA.

The host and major of Port Harcourt City local Government Council Hon. Chimbiko Akarolo commended RIVLEAF, saying the organization with their pedigree has the capacity to groom young leaders among them. He described Amaechi as a man with passion to develop the state.

In their sparate solidarity messages, the chairman Rivers State Local Government Service Commission Chief Azubuike Nmerukini, Chief B. K. Amadi, Hon. Lasbry Amadi former House of Representative member, commissioner for Youths Rivers State, Hon. Owene Wonodi, Hon. Irene Inimgba congratulates the grand patron RIVLEAF, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi for his leadership style.

The Foundation chairman, RIVLEAF, Hon. Temple Wobo promised to discharge his duties with his executive creditably.

Others who graced the occasion include Dr. Dawari George member Federal House of Representative, Ogezi Boms, chairman PDP (PHALGA). The Deputy Major of PHAlGA Hon. Nancy Stephens- Ijaopo and Chief Andy Nweye.

Highlight of the event was the display and cultural dance by the women of Elekahia. ###
