Rivers People Gets Free Eye Treatment

The Rivers State Government in collaboration with Hospitals for Humanity, an NGO from the United States of America is organising a one week Surgery programme for cataract and glaucoma patients.

According to a statement from the office of the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tamunoiyoriari Parker, the one week exercise will commence from 8th to 14th September 2013 at the Department of Ophthalmology at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialists Hospital in Port Harcourt.

It advised all patients with glaucoma and cataract problems in the State to be at Braithwaite Memorial Specialists Hospital eye clinic for free eye treatment. The free eye treatment which starts at 8 am each day, includes surgical operations and is part of deliberate efforts to improve the well being of the Rivers people.
