The busy city of Port Harcourt also known as Garden City will host the first ever 1 million Power Paste Marathon Race this month.
According to the organizer, N1m (One million naira) is up for grab for the place athlete, pointing out that Civic Centre will be the assembling point while the race will start at the Aggrey Road.
Chinedu, one of the organizers said, they came up with this noble idea because they found out that people do not have time for exercise these days hence they thought of getting the average working man to get himself exercise, noting that exercise is beneficial to human health as it shapes and creates that enabling atmosphere for the body to function naturally towards of some common deadly ailments in the human race.
A member of the Organizing Committee, Barisi Wifa who is the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Sports Council also disclosed that the authority wanted the Rivers State Sports Council to help them organize the race so as to ease-off stress in the life of people in the society, hence the Rivers State Sports Council is on hand to give them helping hand.
“It is a noble idea as we are supporting the program to help our people stay healthy through exercise,” he said.
He confirmed that the first athlete will go home happily with the sum of N1million naira (one million naira) along side with a trophy. This is the first time Power Paste is organizing this race.
The event is open to all grades but a certificate of fitness must be the criteria for one to participate. ###
