Why Peterside May Not Return To National Assembly …As Senator Abe Lauded, invited for 2015

HON. PETERSIDE DAKUKU

Giving the scenario where every elected personel seeks return to office either as provided in the 1999 constitution or Electoral Act 2010 or for selfish reasons, indications have emerged that the lawmaker representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside may not return to the House owning to his body language in contesting the governorship position in the state.

An APC chieftain in the state and an indigene of Andoni who pleaded anonymity has said that, Hon. Peterside’s victory and emergence as member federal house of representatives was the sole making of the Andoni people, positing that the Opobos abandoned Peterside to fate without voting for him in the 2011 general elections.

According to the source, though the total Opobo voting strength was less, their votes casts for Peterside was less than 5 percent of total votes caste in Opobo/Nkoro LGA.

The source hinted that, despite that Peterside may be contesting the gubernatorial seat, he is currently completing the second tenure for the Opobos after Hon. Christopher Berewari’s first tenure, adding that it is now the turn of Andoni LGA to produce the next House of Representative member.

It was further disclosed that Peterside’s educational scholarship scheme in the constituency was bias and selective as it forbids the constituents but favoured Peterside’s political friends and associates only, the source revealed, adding that list of the ten beneficiaries from Andoni extraction was a clear indication as published in some dailies.

It was posited that the list as published was made of favouritism but devoid of fairness and merits.

The Newswriter’s source equally revealed that Peterside’s new year’s gift to the people was directed at the APC and few of his friends other than the electorates who voted for him.

The lawmakers’ lopsided representation and alleged sentiments against certain persons in the Andoni area were however condemned, the source stressed.

However, the source gave kudos and showered encomium on senator Abe’s gesture in all axis as it concern Andoni people and lauded him for his magnanimity, while calling on him to present himself further for 2015.

“If Senator Magnus Abe represents himself for 2015, the people of Andoni will vote for him. A good child is known with confessional statements; that it was Andoni that made him what he is today. We are ready to work for him again!” ###
