APC Wards Congress: Ikanya, Ereforokuma Weeps As Ikuru Sweeps Poll

TELE IKURUReports reaching The Newswriter political desk has revealed that the camp loyal to Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Andoni chapter has swept nine (9) of the 11 wards of the Andoni Local Government Area at the just concluded APC wards Congress.

The anti-Ikuru camp led by acting chairman of the Party, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya and the council boss, Orom Nte Ereforokuma only claimed 3 wards irrespective of their noisy opposition in the area.

The APC could not attempt going to the open field for reasons known to it as the governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi had advised against it but should be done harmoniously in the interest of the party, it was learnt.

Meanwhile, Chief Ikanya’s supporters are reportedly weeping regretting their boasting before the congress, saying that it was believed that monies could have done the biding.

As if that was not enough the Ikuru’s camp, The Newswriter’s sources revealed is seriously working to clinch the LGA congress this Saturday.

However, indications have suggested that following the harmonization system, the anti-Ikuru group have already lost out of the LGA congress as Ikuru’s camp has claimed the chairmanship and secretaryship as well as other top positions in LGA executive.

The insider source points to the fact that, Chief Ikanya may not return as the substantive chairman of the state APC, a situation party supporters described as “worrisome”. ###
