Abe, Giadom, others Organise Victory Rally for Gen. Buhari– Hon. Poroma

Hon. Joe Poroma has condemned the brutal killing of Mr. Saturday Lekia Nkirinee, a final year student of the National Teachers Institute (NTI) and the only son of his parents in his father’s compound in Kpite Community of Tai LGA on the early hours of March 28 by thugs whom he alleged were sent by suspected member of PDP to intimidate APC voters.

Hon. Poroma who is also the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation made the condemnation on Tuesday at the palace of the Gbenemene of Tai kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King G. N. K, Gininwa during a peaceful protest match to formally inform him of the killing of their son, asked the king to call the PDP Chief to order hence they are all from the same community under his kingdom.

Hon. Poroma alleged that the thugs stormed his compound around 6am on that fateful day shooting sporadically which led to the death of one person while others sustained various degrees of injuries noting that the police did not come to their rescue as they were at the mercies of the thugs.

According to him, Kpite people are peace loving people and a majority of them have decided to embrace change by joining the APC and that they will remain law abiding but that if the police refuse to protect them, they will be forced to protect themselves while resounding their commitment to vote for Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside during the April 11 gubernatorial election.

Responding, the Gbene Mene of Tai, King G. N. K. Gininwa who sympathized with them also urged them to continue to maintain peace and order even though they have been provoked by the killing of their son noted that it pays nothing to kill a fellow kpite son for political reasons that he wants the war to stop.

He told the Commissioner “it will never pay if your boys revenge because it will even be more brutal since they have been provoked” he said, noting that elections will come and go but kpite community will remain.

The protesters also visited the palace of His Royal Highness Samuel L. A. Nnee, the Gbene Mene Tua Tua and Paramount Ruler of kpite community who while urging them to maintain peace also called on Hon Poroma to bring the killers of the said young man to book.

The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions like, election is not a do or die affair, PDP stop killing in Tai LGA among others.
