Asalga Communities Get Electricity

Jubilation and dancing in the various communities in Asari-Toru Local Government Area as the Caretaker Committee Chairman, CTC of the Council, Chief Hon. Odiari Princewill hooked the communities to the national grid.

The Asalga is in darkness for the past years as the outgone administration owed the PHED a debt of two hundred and ninety million, one hundred and fifty-seven thousand, one hundred and fifty seven naira ninety-five kobo (N294, 157, 175.95k).

The new CTC chairman while addressing the Buguma Council of Chiefs penultimate Friday, revealed that huge amount of money has been paid to PHED to ensure that there is power supply in the area.

Residents of the area who spoke to our correspondent poured encomium on the Asalga boss, describing him as the messiah of the time.

They stressed the importance of electricity in the development of rural communities, pointing out that electricity brings development and positive transformation.

The indigenes of the Asalga communities urged the council chairman to continue with his good works.

“Chief Odiari Princewill has fantastic plans for the people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area within a few weeks of his administration. “Cultism has been reduced to the barest minimum and now we have started enjoying steady electricity”, one of the residents of Buguma community told this weekly.

Speaking on the power supply, the CTC chairman said it is his official and statutory obligation to ensure that the rural dwellers are living comfortable and also to bring the government closer to the doorsteps of the local people. He promised that his administration will put smiles on the faces of the Asalgans.

Chief Princewill appealed to them to always protect government properties in their communities and also to support the government of Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. ###
