FIFA Presidency: Odegbami, Kalu Crash Out

As the race of FIFA presidency gets hot, Chief Segun Odegbami of Nigeria, an Ex-Green famous has been endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to take a shot in the race.

Two Nigerian indicated interest to contest in the race, former governor of Abia State and the Enyimba No. 1 supporter Hon. Orji Kalu and the famous mathematical Segun Odegbami (MON). but as fate will have it the Nigeria Football Federation has throwed it weight to support Chief Segun Odegbami, this is in line with FIFA regulation that any candidate interested to contest the post of FIFA presidency must be supported by the candidates football federation.

Accessing both candidates in their qualities as per their football contribution is concern; both candidates from Nigeria have done their best.

One did his contribution as a player and even captained the then Green Eagles, and even scored vital goals to make Nigeria lift her first Nations cup in 1980 while one is an astute football administrator who give Nigeria her first all Africa Club Championship competition, through Enyimba back to back, with this, both candidates are qualified to vie for the position of the No. 1 position of the world football governing body.

It is on this ground that the Nigeria Football Federation has deemed it fit to support, the captain of the Green Eagles to take his shot at the FIFA presidency.

Nigeria is a major football playing country in Africa and is widely respected in the length and breadth of the contentment of Africa.

Segun Odegbami himself is a football idol, that needs no much introduction administrative wise. He has been involved in football administration in his life, since blossoming to hit limelight as a national team footballer.

He has also a football academy and has also been involved in the football administration of his own state and Nigeria.

Now the coast is cleared for him to contest the No. 1 position of the world football governing body, Nigerians and all other African football playing FIFA members are urged to support the candidature of Nigeria to win.

While the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the candidature of both Chief Segun Odegbami and that of Orji Kalu, the Nigerians did not make the final FIFA presidency list, as they were unable to scale through FIFA test as was widely reported in the media.

Meanwhile, 8 names have been screened to contest the FIFA NO. 1 seat of football power comes February.

Apart from Nigeria, South Africa and other West African countries have their representative screened successfully. What happened to Nigeria? ###
