Go-Round/SWAN Secondary Schools Athletes Championship: Etche LGA Boss Deprived Students Golden Opportunity

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Council has consciously or unconsciously denied or depraved the students of that LGA in the just concluded Go-Round/Swan secondary school Athletics championship a golden opportunity as he chose to feature only 6 athletes on the whole against the normal mandatory number of 10 boys, 10 girls and 4 officials.
The Newswriter sports investigation revealed that Hon. Mike Amadi, vehemently instructed that only 3 boys and 3 girls should be picked from the LGA to represent the Etche council.
In a bid to satisfy our curiosity, The Newswriter sports desk went further to ascertain the contingent of the LGA and came out with the following amazing facts, according to our findings, only one official was permitted by the LGA boss to represent his LGA. So on the whole instead of having 24 contingent Etche presented 3 boys, 3 girls and one official, totaling 7 in number.
This action shows that Hon. Mike Amadi was not ready to give the opportunity presented by Bro. Felix Obuah, the sole financier of the Go-Round/Swan secondary School Athletics championship to the students of all LGAs.
It would have been better he did not send any at all to represent his LGA instead of not aiming at the target or keying to the vision of the sponsor of the championship.
The championship has a good prospect of offering students who distinguished themselves in the 9 events scholarship and other incentives, who knows, if all the students in Etche were given the opportunity offered by the sponsor, one or two students from Etche would have benefited either of the golden opportunity offered by Go-Round.
All the LGAs did appear well in the championship apart from Etche that was callous about the whole exercise. Eleme worked against all odds to appear on the day of first event hence they did not meet the match past.
The action of Hon. Mike Amadi indicates that he was not ready to better the lot of the students in his LGA or not ready to chairman the Etche LGA.
It simply means that he has denied generations of students’ one life time opportunity. ###
