Groups Partner RSG On Good Governance

The New Rivers Grand Coalition, Advocacy for Grassroots Development (AGD) and Association of Model Islamic Schools last week paid a visit to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief (Barr.) Mohammed Aribitonye Okiri to intimate him on their resolve to support and partner with Gov. Wike led New Rivers Vision government.
Speaking, Hon. Obiamme Iyalla, the leader of the New Rivers Grand Coalition informed the SA on how his new group emerged out of the former Rivers Grand Coalition which abandoned the Peoples Democratic Party.
He pointed out that his group is for PDP and stand with the governor of the state, saying that his group is happy that the Supreme Court has corrected the wrong for Governor Wike to continue his good works in the state.
Responding, the SA said, he will help them to link up with the appropriate quarters and thanked the group for supporting and standing by the governor.
“Rivers State is safe for everyone. The vision of Wike is to create wealth for Rivers people. We have a duty to maintain peace in our community therefore preach peace and maintain it.
“Despite the various distractions, Wike has achieved roads construction. We must collectively come together as an NGO to contribute to the well being of the state”. He promised doing his best to assist them. While urging the group to support the governor with any good idea they have.
He maintained that the state government will partner with all NGOs as to draw ideas from them, adding that all good ideas that are sustainable will be supported by the government of Wike.
Chief Okiri, assured them that he will recommend them to any job that the group could handle, advising them that they must find a way to reduce kidnapping and crime in the state.
In Chief Okiri’s office at the time of the group visit were the Association of Model Islamic School led by their chairman Maruf Olakehinde to seek for an assistance to establish Islamic Private Schools which the SA pledged to help them.
