Rivers United Gets Flight Arrangement

RIVERS UNITEDRivers State new baby football club, Rivers United will no longer travel on road to prosecute her away matches as from the club’s third match.
This was revealed to the media by the media officer of the club, Sammy Wejinya through a radio program on Friday 26th February, 2016.
According to the media mouth piece of Rivers United FC, the Rivers State government, the club sponsor had concluded arrangement to see that Rivers United will no longer travel on road to honour her matches as from the third match.
“All matches involving Rivers United will be on flight, this means that players and technical crew of Rivers United will always travel through air in all away matches involving Rivers United”
With this special arrangement made for Rivers United by the Rivers State government, Rivers United has become the first club in the Nigeria Professional Football Leagues to honour away matches involving any club in the country.
Disclosing further, Wejinya said, Rivers United will be involved in playing two matches in three days and three matches within the week hence the Rivers State government would not want to risk the lives of the technical crew and its players.
“This will further take care of fatigue of the players where players could not concentrate in playing their best because of fatigue and not arriving stadium on time.
It would be recalled that this was one of the most challenging problems encountered by former Dolphins of Port Harcourt in the club last continental game, it lost out in the competition because of flight arrangement.
The match was honoured quiet well, but Dolphins arrived the stadium late hence was not in a position to feature for the game as the match officials have concluded everything in favour of Dolphins opponent, all because Dolphins did not arrive on time as stipulated by the match schedule.
Meanwhile, Rivers United lost its second match in the league to Mountain of Fire Ministries. ###
