Keshi’s Burial Stirs Controversy

The burial of former captain and coach of the Super eagles has continued to stir controversy as both family and the Nigeria Football Federation has shown their interest for the big boss burial.

Information available to The Newswriter sports has it that Kate Keshi’s daughter and son was in Nigeria to formalise their father’s burial rites.

Strange as it may seem to the children of Keshi, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their own had planned to conduct Keshi’s burial without consulting or involving Keshi’s immediate biological family. This did not augur well with the children of Keshi as they reacted.

Another story has it that Keshi’s body is proposed to be buried in his adopted home town Benin City in Edo State rather than his ancient home town.

While the controversy ranges on, The Newswriter sports and other well meaning sports loving Nigerians and fans of the late soccer icon admonished all that respect the Big Boss to him a befitting burial rather than making controversy out of his burial.

The big boss is gone, and would not be seen around physically but his exploits and legacies when he lived will forever hold him dear to Nigerians in high esteem, Malians and the people of Togo whom he qualified to play in the world cup for the first time.

Indeed, Nigeria and African soccer has lost a man who influence football not only in Nigeria but in the West Africa region.

Farewell Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, “the big boss “Bobby Moore”. May your soul rest in internal peace.  ###
