The executive chairman of Andoni local government area, Hon. Oron Nte, has stated that his local government will produce the next best swimmer for Rivers State.
The soft spoken Andoni chairman made this disclosure while chatting with the editor of The Newswriter Sports Desk last week Friday in Port Harcourt, shortly after casting his vote as a player of Allstars International Football club of Port Harcourt, during the club election on that day.
His reasons: he said his local government is a riverine local government, saying that his people virtually lives in water, pointing out that none plays with water more than his people, hence his local government area supposed to produce the next best swimmer for Rivers State.
The rural administrator, also said his council is having a plan to become the best soccer local government area in Rivers State. To this effect, he has started planning school football to catch the youths with the aim of winning the Rivers State Governor’s football cup.
He said being a footballer, it will be on record that in his tenure he gave something to Rivers State, stressing that for this reason he will work tirelessly to achieve that aim by putting every necessary step in place.
