RSG Talks Tough On Eko 2012

Few days to the 18th National sports festival tagged “Eko” 2012, to be hosted by Lagos State come 29th November, 2012, Rivers State commissioner for Sports, Hon. Fred Ngbombo Igwe, is talking tough saying that Team Rivers is participating to defend her gold medal.
This statement has been reechoed by both the deputy governor of the state, Engr. Tele Ikuru, who is the chairman of the local organizing committee (LOC) and Director of Sports council, Sir Daobu H. Harry.
Speaking to sports journalists over the weekend, Hon Igwe revealed that Team Rivers would participate in 23 events come 29th November, 2012 when Eko 2012, 18th national sports festival would take the centre stage.
To complement his statement, Team Rivers is in close camping as to make their number one position real.
Earlier, the state volleyball team that featured in the 17th national sports festival which was hosted by Port Harcourt, where Rivers State won the overall position in all the event contested for, went into a test run.
To this effect, Hon. Igwe stated that Governor Amaechi had motivated her athletes to spur them to action to defend the gold medal won at the 17th national sports festival here in Port Harcourt. ###
