NSF: Rivers Dethroned, Places Second

The 18th National Sports Festival, has ended in Lagos with Rivers State been dethroned, as Delta State assumed leadership of the number one position in sports event in the country.
Before jetting out for the Eko 2012, Team Rivers Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chairman, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Deputy Governor of Rivers State had boasted that Team Rivers was participating to win, not stopping at that, he went on to say that Team Rivers will even surpass the record she set in Port Harcourt when the state hosted the 17th National Sports Festival tagged Garden City Games. This was not to be as the Team lost the competition to Delta State.
To this effect, the state governor motivated the athletes in paying all their allowances and salaries up to December while at home soil, Team Rivers won total of 138 medals, to surpass that record. The Deputy Governor said Team Rivers will surpass that record, hence Team Rivers sets a total medal record of 160 medals at Eko 2012.
