NFF Approves 7 January 2012-2013 NPL Season

The Nigeria Football federation (NFF) on Thursday in its Annual General Assembly approved 7th of January 2013 as the 2012-2013 Nigeria Premier League season.
In a communiqué drafted by the congress the general Assembly ratified the decision of NFF executive on the Nigeria Premier League, endorsing the lifting of suspension of Mr. Akin Akinbobola and converted the expulsion of Ocean Boys Football Club of Brass from the Nigerian premier league to demotion to the immediate lower league.
The congress also approved NFF executive committee to set up a league management committee to supervise the affairs of the league for the 2012/2013 league season, pending the conduct of fresh election.
Congress also directed the Nigeria Women’s League, the Nigeria Nationwide League APFON and coaches Association to hold their congresses within the next 90 days (3months).
The congress also passed vote of confidence on the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation while commending Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and the people of Rivers State for hosting the 2012 Annual General Assembly of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The congress also commended the effort of the executive committee and management of the Nigerian Football Federation in ensuring the qualification of the countries various National Team’s for major international championships, stating from the qualification of the Super Eagles for 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, the Flying Eagles for 2013 Africa Youth Championship, the Golden Eagles for the 2013 African U-17 championship and the credible performances of U-20 and U-17 women National Teams in FIFA competition in 2012. ###
