Daddy Builds Put Up Mini Stadium For DELGA

The executive chairman of Degema Local Government Council, (DELGA), Hon. Daddy Pokima has disclosed that he is putting up a mini stadium for his local government area that will be all comprehensive in hosting all sports event in the area.

Speaking to sports journalists, the chairman said sports is a large employer of labour and except the youths are provided an opportunity to discover their talents, the crime rate in the society will keep increasing.

He said that Degema Local Government is a sporting local Government council, that was demonstrated when the state hosted the last sports festival, where Degema Local Government was declared the best sporting Local Government Council in Rivers State.

Hon. Pokima hinted that the mini stadium when completed will be one that could be used by the state and neighbouring local government councils like AKULGA, ASALGA and ABOLGA, adding that the state sports ministry could also host any sports competition in the mini stadium.

He therefore appealed to the people of Degema Local Government Council to support him to provide the enabling environment for qualitative democracy to them.

He said one sure way of achieving that is to give him their unalloyed support and cooperation as he is prepared to give them the dividend of democracy by providing basic social amenities that will make life worth living. #
