Jerry Needam Eulogizes Late Kenneth Amabipi’s Virtue

It was flood of memories pouring from friends, associates, colleagues and well wishers on Saturday 16th February 2013 when the late publisher of The Newswriter Mr. Kenneth Amabipi was laid to rest at his home town Abam-Ama.

Jerry Needam, the publisher of the National Network Newspaper was moved to speak as if Kenneth Amabipi who worked with him at one time was an angel.

According to Needam, Kenneth Amabipi was a star, describing him as a good man of knowledge and regard, positing that when they were at National Network, the late Kenneth Amabipi created two columns of public interest oddities and the famous waterfront parliament, where his oratory prowess was enjoyed by the public.

Speaking further, Mr. Needam disclosed that it was himself that enrolled late Kenneth Amabipi into journalism here in Port Harcourt at the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ).

Armed with basic knowledge of journalism training, late Kenneth Amabipi brought out his creativity as he navigated the whole world right in his office to create news behind the news in one of his columns, “Oddities” where he was telling odd things happening around the world.

Lamenting, Needam stated that the journalism family has lost an intelligent, creative and hardworking youngman whose vacuum will be difficult to fill.

Members of the Rivers State Independent Publishers Association (RIVPA), the Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ), Associations, and his drama group which he was the director graced the occasion. His religious organization, Eckankar performed the memorial service. Late Kenneth Amabipi was interred peacefully at about 2pm. ###
