The wife of the Governor of Rivers State, Dame Judith Amaechi has lauded the spirited efforts of Okrika Women in championing the part of peace.
Dame Judith Amaechi made the remark while addressing Okrika Women at the Okrika Local Government Council Secretariat.
The wife of the Governor stress that her mission to Okrika is to preach the message of salvation as that is the only panacea to hope and stability in our society.
She stated that, the administration of Governor Amaechi has put in place massive infrastructural development for the people as from what is on ground now, hope has come the way of the people.
The Rivers State Lady remark that since the Okrika Women have come together as one, a new lease of life has come to Okrika and that will remain with the people.
Dame Judith Amaechi use the occasion to donate a grant of 1 Million to the Okrika women as part of her Empowerment Support Initiative to the women and less privileged.
She enjoin the women and indeed all Okrikans to promote peace as to her, women are the agents of transformation.
Earlier, the wife of the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Mrs. Blessing Williams lauded the efforts of the 1st Lady and promised to project the hopes and aspirations of Okrika Women.
Speaking, the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Barr. Tamuno Williams promised to come up with empowerment programme that would accommodate the women.
Tamuno Williams promised to pursue the policy of human capacity building which is intended to create Empowerment Support programme for the Okrika Women.
He used the occasion to reiterate his desire to support the empowerment support programme of Dame Judith Amaechi, especially ensuring that land is provided for the 1st lady’s Empowerment Support Initiative schools for the less privileged children. ###
