Nigeria Police Games Commences 3rd March

The much anticipated Nigeria Police Games is built to commence on 3rd March, 2013 Port Harcourt is expected to play host to the rest of 35 states in the Nigeria federation.

According to the release issued by the Main Organizing Committee (MOC), the opening ceremony will take place in Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex, while the closing ceremony will take place at the Liberation Stadium Elekahia.

The aims and objectives are given as discovering sports talents to represent the country in an international competition later in the year.

The Nigeria Police has been on the move in turning out seasoned sports men and women in all sports event, as the force takes sports as part of its human developmental capacity project, and had in the past helped the Nigeria federation in sports in many events.

The likes of the late Sunday Bada is a product of the Nigeria police games, the first female Olympic 1966 gold medalist, Chioma Ajunwa and Julius Aghahoaa are all good examples of the Nigeria police games, products, as they all at one time in the history of Nigeria sports helped the country won laurels.

The games that was earlier slated to commence on the 24th of February was postponed to 3rd March because of logistic reasons, had a raffle draw for men and women of the police force.

Five brand new cars would be won by lucky winners, with just a ticket of N100.00 at any police command or formation. Only police men and women are eligible to this raffle draw.

According to the instruction, the promo is open to only inspectors and rank and file in the Nigeria police.

The draws taking place at the opening ceremony of the Games prizes, will be given to deserving Sportsmen and women who will distinguished themselves from the games. All other protocol governing sports competitions will be observed. ###
