Super Eagles Tackle Harambe Stars In Calabar

The Super Eagles 18 Nigeria is looking set for their weekend encounter against the East Africans Harambe stars of Kenya on the road to Brazil 2014.

Everything looks set for the Super Eagles’ 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification game against Kenya’s Harambee Stars as all the invited Europe-based players have now arrived for the game in Calabar.

Stephen Keshi trained with the entire contingent on Tuesday evening except Victor Moses and Obafemi Martins who arrived late due to flight problems, according to reports.

The duo was excused and asked to take a rest from Tuesday’s work out.

Keshi took nine players from the Nigeria Professional Football League for the game along with 15 players called up from Europe for the country’s first game since becoming African champions last month.

Nigeria’s opponents Kenya will arrive the country on Thursday for Saturday’s crucial encounter. Nigeria top Group F with four points from two matches.

Namibia who host Malawi this weekend are second with three points.

Local fans in Calabar are already anticipating an interesting encounter as they relish seeing the new African champions for the first time since their triumph. ###
